Intermission...

Updated: May 2, 2019

Welcome Back #VibrantFam! Today I wanted to talk about intermission in the general sense, the idea of a break in the midst of a grand performance. I find myself lacking the ability to take a break especially when I hit a mountain of creativity. I will literally work until I work myself into a depression -- which prior to this year I had no idea this was possible. I was walking around the city the other day and came across a beautiful mural that had the word "Intermission" sprawled across a huge wall. In the moment I stopped, admired and snapped a shot of it. I had not really thought much into it until today and writing this post. The universe has a way of reminding us of important things we need. Whether these reminders are for us specifically or to pass on to others, we are constantly in a state of learning and taking in knowledge. This one seemed important to share with you all. So many of my peers work in the music industry or service industry and we are at a constant flow of work -- we literally overwork ourselves to fulfill passions that we have daily. We sometimes ignore the body's call for a break and we push these ideas of breaks off as if they are more detrimental than necessary to our well-being. The thing is is we fail to realize that not taking these necessary breaks we end up pushing ourselves past our limits. We end up sleeping an entire day away (which is great, do not get me wrong here) or burning out and fighting hard to get that creativity back. We end up almost screwing ourselves more than if we had taken a day of self-care or a day to recuperate. This post is to be your echoing reminder to take a day to breathe, take a day to gather yourself and listen to your body. What do you need? What is your body craving right this minute? Put the red bull, skip the third cup of coffee and just breathe for a minute.

Do not forget to take your intermission -- your creative flow and your passions will thank you. Spread Love, Spread Light and Stay Vibrant.
